About Novacast Ai

They say September is one of those months where everything changes.

As the rain splashed down on my face, and I quickly closed the door behind me, a thought flashed across my mind: "Maybe they were right. Maybe what they said was true."

I shuddered at the thought. A mix of the cool damp air and the bleak reality of the situation.

I had to move. I had to get there fast.

Turns out I wasn't the only one looking for it. This night, my regular walk wouldn't be what I was expecting at all…

No no no… I'm just joking.

That's not actually how I (and our team) got started in this…
Novacast Ai Story 1
Here's what really happened
I used to focus heavily on Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) consulting for companies. Technology was my primary focus. Blockchain / Web3 my primary niche.

Sure, sometimes I'd go out in the rain, close the door behind me and think "Maybe there's a better way to do this." But I like the rain.

Here's the thing about rain and growing companies (from my CMO perspective at least).

Both can overwhelm you if you're not prepared.

With rain it comes down to your preparedness… and in my case comfort with water. Growing from a CMO perspective – it's the sheer amount of opportunities that can overwhelm you.

I've always found that with CMO work you've got two main focal points that will help you cut through the noise. 1) Strategy and 2) Tactics. You can't really have one without the other.

Many companies forget (or don't know) how interconnected they really are. I'd help with both. And the results spoke for themselves…

I thought "Why don't I turn this into an
agency?"...and so that's the path I took.

During this time the founders and CEOs that I worked with would ask me for strategic insight and "tactical" help.

You know the type:

"Hey, do you know any agencies or contractors that can do social media for us?"
"Who do we talk to for PR help?"
"Who should we go to for ads?" and the like.

Having friends and connections in the industry, I often knew who to turn to for help, or would quickly do some of the work myself.
Novacast Ai Team
We decided to focus down on what we were really good at.

1) Owned media (content marketing, brand messaging)
2) Earned media (PR, media, podcast placement)
3) Paid media (platforms, influencers/KOLs, sponsorships).

I doubled down on the blockchain niche (now called web3 for all those new to the space).

Why blockchain / Web3? I was really struck by the idea of helping innovative companies with great ideas get mass market adoption.

And as the blockchain market soared, so too did my agency. At our peak the agency was upwards of 12 people with contractors. An entirely remote team placing clients on BNN, national news outlets, Bitcoin.com, and The Next Web to name a few.
I would do the CMO Consulting + Digital Vision (my agency) would do aspects of the agency work when needed.
CAC vs Growth

We were running 80,000+ person newsletters, getting 100's of thousands of new users for clients.

In one month for example, our team published +45,000 words... +18 podcast placements... managed 3x internal teams, and ran multi-6-figure ad campaigns

I was incredibly busy.

I was personally trying to hold everything together, and had to turn down
clients because we just couldn't handle the extra work.

Our team was manually searching for journalist contacts.

Manually building lists.

Manually doing research for podcasts.

Manually doing outreach as well.

Paying for CRM systems. Manually tracking results.

Paying for outreach systems. Manually tracking results.

Paying for databases. Manually… you get the idea…

It cost us time and me, a lot of money. Even though we had great results, I was turning away clients. I just couldn't grow.

Our team was doing everything manually
CS User Growth 1

This all frustrated me to no end. We had great results, but I was stressed and maxed out. I thought: “I want to grow and scale a business… but I don’t want to have to just hire more people to do things manually."

To make matters worse, the market was just so volatile and uncertain that I didn't feel comfortable taking a growth chance.

I thought there must be a better way to do this...

... So I searched for automation and software to help us.

When I couldn't find them, I spent multiple-six figures experimenting trying to build them.

Most of the experiments didn't work.

But I thought something would click, so I kept on spending and experimenting while we maintained our client output.

Then the crypto market crashed. And it crashed HARD.

Bitcoin went from +$65,000 down to $16,000 – a massive drop in a short period of time.

"Would this be the end of the crypto industry?"

"How are we going to afford to market when people aren't buying?"

Work became more scarce as budgets were cut.

The market crashed... and it crashed HARD.

Crypto market crash chart

Although we had helped a number of clients scale to exits, funding of new projects was tight, and clients were apprehensive about marketing spend.

I tried to maintain the flow of clients, but unfortunately had to cut back on our team.

From 12 down to 8.
8 down to 5.
5 down to 2.

It was the worst. But I just had no work for our team.

I then got burned by a client who owed 10s of thousands in fees. We delivered the work and they simply didn't pay us.

It was bad.

You know, I once heard someone say "Pilots always take off into the headwinds. It helps them get off the ground faster, and is more stable for flight."

“Pilots always take off into the headwinds. It helps them get off the ground faster, and is more stable for flight”.
Plane take off

While I’m not a pilot, I like the concept.

Maybe this was my headwind to get me started?

Maybe now was the right time to build the tools that I had always wanted?

So, I took everything I had + more, and I began building software.

Thinking “this will help us get more media placements for our clients and
the interesting projects we are working on in the future… I’ll be able to do more
with less…”

Well, 2-years later and lots of time, money, and energy spent on
development here we are with an ecosystem of media tools to help you
to get more awareness and traffic for your brand.

I believe we need more great ideas to flourish. It’s how we advance. It’s how we become better.

Great ideas deserve to be in the spotlight so they can grow…

So I ask you this: Do you have a great idea? Do you have
insights that can help someone become better? Are you a
business leader who can help us move forward or advance our
world?

I bet you do. This is the story of why I created Novacast Ai and our other tools.

You know my story, I hope to be a part of yours.

“Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as
the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the
world, are the ones who do.”
– Steve Jobs

Now let’s get your great ideas out in the open and in front of the right audience.

To your success,
– Cahill Camden and the Novacast Ai Team
